Abstract

The study investigated the challenges with the management of technology facilities and promotion of service delivery in Ramat Library, University of Maiduguri, Borno State. The study was guided by two objectives and one hypothesis. The study used survey research design with a population of seventy six (76) library staff. Total enuration sampling technique was employed for the study. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Seventy six (76) copies of questionnaire were administered to the librarians’ in Ramat library, and response rate of 67 (88%) recorded which was used for data analysis. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency counts, percentages and mean score; while simple linear regression was used to test the hypotheses. Findings revealed several challenges with the management of technology facilities such as shortage of skilled personnel, financial constraints, lack of resources or expertise, training and policies to address challenges. The challenges with the management of technology facilities has statistically positive significant incluence on the service delivery (r=0.521, N=67, r2 = 0.271 p < 0.000). The study concluded that the more the challenges with the management of technology facilities, the poorer are the service deliveries in Ramate Library. It is recommended that Ramat library should seek additional funding sources, including government support, grants, and partnerships with private organizations ro educe or eliminate the challenges so as to ensure efficient promotion of service delivery.
